Big congrats to Dr. Sule E. Egya, the winner of the 2013 Commonwealth book prize for Africa region with his book "Sterile Sky".He teaches Creative Writing and African Literature in English in the Department of English & Literary Studies, University of Abuja, Abuja, Nigeria.
He has published a number of short stories, poems, and literary essays in journals and e-journals. He has also published three volumes of poetry and two collections of short stories. His latest poetry volume, What the Sea Told Me (2009) won the 2009 ANA/NDDC Gabriel Okara Prize for Poetry and the 2009 AWF/Anthony Agbo Prize for Poetry.
He has just completed work on his first novel, which he began during a nine-month writing fellowship in 2006 under the mentorship of Ayi Kwei Armah. He is currently an Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral research fellow and resident scholar at Humboldt University, Berlin.
