Part 1: Days that shook the world

Between 1900 to 2015, a lot happened that shook the world to her foundation and ultimately changed the way we all live today, from the first successful airplane flight to the moon landing and many more.

The Wright brothers:

December 17, 1903.

Orville and Wilbur Wright from the United States of America made history, when they successfully flew the world first airplane although they are not the first to build and fly experimental aircraft, the Wright brothers were the first to invent aircraft controls that made fixed-wing powered flight possible.

The assassination Archduke Franz Ferdinand:

28th of June, 1914.

It is the 28th of June, 1914.  During a visit to Sarajevo, Franz Ferdinand (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne) and his wife (Sophie) are assassinated. The archduke's death will become a precipitating cause of World War One.

Princip is nineteen years old and dying of tuberculosis is one of the five assassins. The Austrian Empire rules his country, and the young man's anger about that fact is directed toward the heir of the Austrian throne, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

 

World war one:

28 July 1914-11 November 1918.

World War I (WWI or WW1), also known as the First World War or the Great War, was a global war centred in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. More than 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians died as a result of the war, a casualty rate exacerbated by the belligerents' technological and industrial sophistication, and tactical stalemate. It was one of the deadliest conflicts in history, paving the way for major political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved.

The great depression.

September 4, 1929 to the late 1930s

The Great Depression had devastating effects in countries rich and poor. Personal income, tax revenue, profits and prices dropped, while international trade plunged by more than 50%. Unemployment in the U.S. rose to 25%, and in some countries rose as high as 33%

The depression originated in the United States, after the fall in stock prices that began around September 4, 1929, and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 (known as Black Tuesday).

Black Sunday (storm)

April 14, 1935

Black Sunday refers to a particularly severe dust storm that occurred on April 14, 1935, as part of the Dust Bowl. It was one of the worst dust storms in American history and it caused immense economic and agricultural damage. It is estimated to have displaced 300 million tons of topsoil from the prairie area in the US

Attack on Pearl Harbor

December 7, 1941

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, in the United States Territory of Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack led to the United States' entry into World War II.

The World war two.

1 September  1939-2 September 1945

World War II (WWII or WW2), also known as the Second World War (after the recent Great War), was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945, though related conflicts began earlier. It involved the vast majority of the world's nations—including all of the great powers—eventually forming two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis. It was the most widespread war in history, and directly involved more than 100 million people from over 30 countries. In a state of "total war", the major participants threw their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities behind the war effort, erasing the distinction between civilian and military resources. Marked by mass deaths of civilians, including the Holocaust (during which approximately 11 million people were killed) and the strategic bombing of industrial and population centres (during which approximately one million people were killed, including the use of two nuclear weapons in combat), it resulted in an estimated 50 million to 85 million fatalities. These made World War II the deadliest conflict in human history.
