Two policemen have been killed in Bahrain after they were targeted in a "terrorist attack", the interior ministry said.
In a statement posted on Twitter on Tuesday morning, the ministry
said eight other policemen were injured, three of them seriously, in the
attack in Sitra, a village on an island south of the capital, Manama.
The authorities did not specify the nature of the attack nor did they assign responsibility to any group.

Shia- dominated Sitra island is the scene of frequent clashes between security forces and demonstrators.The attack comes just days after the Sunni-ruled kingdom announced it had foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons from rival Iran.
