A British woman has been murdered and her
husband left critically injured by suspected robbers who are believed to
have raided their retirement home in a sleepy South African seaside town.
The woman, named by police as Christine Davis, 65, was stabbed several
times in the neck while her husband Brian, 67, was beaten over the head
with a blunt instrument.
They were discovered by neighbours who found the couple’s dog wandering in the street outside and became concerned.
Police believe the couple were attacked sometime between Saturday
evening and Sunday morning and say their car, a green Isuzu Wizard,
their television, two laptops and a tablet are missing from their rented
house in Knysna, a south coast town famed for its clear waters and
annual oyster festival.
