France to provide intelligence and equipment support to fight terrorism

President Francois Hollande of France has assured President Buhari of Nigeria, who's a 3 day working visit to France that his county will support the Multinational Joint task force with intelligence gathering and equipment's in the fight against Islamic insurgents and terrorism in Nigeria and sub-saharan Africa.

Mr. Hollande stated this on Monday while receiving Mr. Buhari at the Elysee Palace in Paris for a closed door bilateral meeting. Mr Hollande also thanked President Buhari for his new approach in tacking the insurgency in the North Eastern part of Nigeria.

In his remarks President Buhari thanked the French government for its interest in assisting Nigeria and expressed the readiness of his administration to partner with France for the over all development of Nigeria.

He also stated that, he will be consulting the G7 in terms of intelligence and training, also in the need for assistance in curbing the menace of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea, from Senegal to Angola, an area that is endowed with resources like petroleum and other mineral resources.
