MONDAY WEEK STARTER: A Blessing in disguise "The Clark family's dream"

Most times when our plans fails or that joyous moment just ends disastrous we tend to feel like 'An elephant just fell on us' we blame ourselves, blame God and most often time it becomes too difficult to move on but do you know that problem or tragedy may be a blessing in disguise.

About 106 years ago, A family in Scotland, who had always dreamed of a family trip to the United States of America, Mr and Mrs Clark worked hard day and night saving money, making plans their nine children and themselves to travel to the United States. It took them years to save enough money to get passports and reservations for the whole family on a new indestructible liner to the United States. Every member of the family was filled with anticipation and bustling with excitement about their feat and the new life.

But something happened that left the Clark's family devastated, Seven days to their dream trip, their youngest son was bitten by a dog, a Doctor was invited who treated the boy and had the wound sewed up but when he was leaving he hung a yellow sheet on the Clark's front door. He had quarantined the whole family for fourteen days, because of the possibilities of spreading rabies. They would not be able to make the trip as they had planned.

The father, filled with disappointment because all he and his wife have laboured hard to put in place had just evaporated, he shed tears and cursed both his son and God for their misfortune.

Mr. Clark went to the dock to watch the ship leave "without his family" and shed tears again, but just five days later, tragic news spread throughout Scotland 'April 14, 1912' the mighty unsinkable Titanic had sunk, taking hundreds of lives with. The Clark family would have been on that ill-fated maiden voyage of Titanic, if the dog didn't bite the son.

When Mr. Clark heard the news, he hugged his son and thanked him for saving the family. He thanks God for saving their lives and turning what he had though was a disappointment into a blessing.

Dear DTB reader, we may not always understand, but all things happen for a reason. Don't let that disappointment, disaster or obstacle stop you from saying a BIG THANK YOU GOD because in every disappointment there's always a bigger blessing. Don't stand still.

Do have a blissful week
