This is indeed a tough time for the embattled president of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Ibinabo Fiberesima, as the Lagos division of Nigeria's Court of Appeal sentenced the top Nollywood actress to a 5-year jail term.
Recall that about 10 years ago, the actress drove recklessly, causing the death of one Giwa Suraj in an auto accident along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos.
The beautiful thespian burst into tears immediately the judgement was delivered, although the actress urged the court to set aside the sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrate Court which sentenced her to a N100, 000 fine, her request was not granted. The court ruled that the appeal lacked merit, hence, the dismissal.
