JK Rowling's alter ego 'Robert Galbraith' makes longlist for crime-writing prize

Award winning author JK Rowling's alter ego Roberth Galbraith makes the longlist for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the year for debut novelist and stalwarts in the genre for a crime-writing prize.

The Harry Potter series author, who wrote Career of Evil under the pseudonym 'Robert Galbraith', is featured on the longlist for this year's prize.

The longlist, which comprises 18 titles, was selected by an academy of crime-writing authors, agents, editors, reviewers, members of the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival programming committee and representatives from T&R Theakston Ltd and WHSmith.


The 12th Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year award is open to crime authors whose novels were published in paperback from May 1 2015 to April 18 2016.

The shortlist of six titles will be announced on May 31 and the overall winner will be decided by the panel of judges and a public vote.

The winner will be announced at an award ceremony on July 21 on the opening night of the 14th Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate.
