The 2015 Short Story Day Africa Prize is now open for submissions. The goal of Short Story Day Africa is to celebrate the diversity of Africa’s voices, and to foster the love of reading and writing African fiction.
The theme for this year’s prize is Water. Submissions are open to
citizens and residents of any African country as well as to the
diaspora. Stories must be between 3,000 and 5,000 words in length, and
writers are welcome to submit stories in any fiction genre. The award
for 1st Prize is R10,000 ($807), 2nd Prize is R2,000 ($161), 3rd Prize
is R1,000 ($80). The deadline is 31 July.
