NIGERIA: Saraki seeks Emir’s help on Buhari

According to The Punch, Embattled senate President Bukola Saraki, has now resorted to seeking the assistance of emirs and traditional rulers to intercede on his behalf with President Buhari of Nigeria.

In realizing this objective, the senate president, has sought the help of the Emir of his home town, Ilorin, Kwara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, an aide of the emir told punch correspondent.

Mr Saraki emerged President of the 8th Senate on June 9, 2015 against the decision of his party and to make matter worse, Senator Ike Ekweremadu of the main opposition party "People's Democratic Party" emerged as the deputy Senate President, a situation that many see as worrisome. Mr Saraki has been in a running battle with party leaders since then and sources claimed he has not been granted audience by the President as well.
