If you've been following my SATURDAY DIGEST "World's Greatest unsolved mysteries" you will note that i did my post on the Jack the Ripper's mystery yesterday..you can read it here Well today news just broke that Jack the
Ripper may finally have been unmasked following a claim that the serial
killer's last victim was in fact his estranged wife and the real target
of his 19th century murder spree.
The
theory was put forward by the author of a new book who believes he has
evidence that Mary Jane Kelly, a Whitechapel prostitute, was his great
aunt and that she was killed by Francis Spurzheim Craig.
Now,
in an extraordinary turn of events, the Ministry of Justice has
indicated that it will grant the first exhumation licence for the grave
of a Ripper victim to establish if the claims are true.
Craig
was a struggling reporter who covered court cases and inquests in the
East End during the period when the serial killer struck in 1888.
Dr
Wynne Weston-Davies, 71, said the fact that Mary Jane was hideously
disfigured, unlike the Ripper's other victims, suggested the killer had
gone to great lengths to make sure she was never linked to him.
According to the Daily Telegraph, he made his astonishing discovery following an attempt to trace what had happened to his missing great aunt, Elizabeth.
What
he found, and what is laid out in his book The Real Mary Kelly, is that
Mary Jane was actually the pseudonym of Elizabeth Weston Davies.
She
married Craig on Christmas Eve 1884, in Hammersmith, but a few months
later was seen going into a hotel in King's Cross with a 'young man...
at 10 o'clock at night'.
Huh. White people and serial killing. It happens everywhere, in Nigeria it's killing for ritual while the white kill just for the fun and thrill it gives them.
