Outrage as police in Texas arrest a 14-year-old genius ninth grader from Irving Texas, when he brought his homemade clock to MacArthur High School on September 14 to his his engineering teacher.
According to The Dallas Morning News reports, Ahmed Mohammed who likes making electronic gadgets like radios himself, decided to show his teacher and peers his new feat but he ended up handcuffed by police.
The reason for his arrest according to police? The clock looked like a bomb. While Ahmed told them several times that it was a clock.
Police are still investigating the case.
“They were like, ‘So you tried to make a bomb?’” Ahmed said.
“I told them no, I was trying to make a clock.”
“He said, ‘It looks like a movie bomb to me.’”

MacAurthur High School have suspended the 14-year-old for three days, and also sent notes to the parents and guardians of children attending the school making them aware that police responded to a suspicious looking item on campus.
