Couple who had been married for six decades died within 72hours of each other

This is what i call true love, a couple who were married for more than 60 years have died just three days apart.

Dennis Burkett, 84, was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and just six weeks later, his wife of six decades Betty was also informed she had gall bladder cancer.

Mr. Dennis died at home earlier this month and around 72 hours later, Betty also passed away.

Their deaths came so close together that their daughter Gail Kelly never had a chance to tell her mother that her father had died.

Ms Kelly, 59, said it was no surprise to her that her parents died on the same week, as they have spent so much of their lives together.

She said: 'It's a relief in a way because they're not in pain any more. I think that's how they would have wanted it in the end, they shared everything.

'They had their fights over the years and they even separated once, but they always came back together.

'They always looked after each other, right up until the end.'
