A new autonomous state has been proclaimed in Central African republic by rebel leader, Commander Maouloud Moussa, according to the spokesman for the Muslim rebel leader Noureddine Adam, the new state in the northern part of CAR will be called the Republic of Logone.
The Central African Republic has been highly volatile since early 2013.
Mr. Adam said, a copy of the declaration, signed on Monday, was given to the UN office in Kaga-Bandoro. The transitional government denounced the declaration.
Mr Adam's statement says the country should be divided in a move to ensure peace.
His call comes weeks before a national election is scheduled and two weeks after Pope Francis visited and called for reconciliation among the country's Muslim and Christian militias.
