A new twist in the case of jailed ruthless cartel boss Joaquin Guzman better known as El' Chapo who asked for his extradition to the U.S to be sped up earlier this month, accusing Mexican authorities of treating him inhumanely and turning him into a monster.

It was revealed that one of the guns found at his hideout was sold to him by the US Government as part of a bungled operation to trace firearms used by criminals.
According to the US Justice Department a .50-calibre rifle, powerful enough to bring down a helicopter, was bought during the failed "gun-walking" Fast and Furious operation.
Starting in 2009 America’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (AFT) allowed illegal gun sales, believed to be destined for Mexican cartels, in order to track the sellers and purchasers.

But during the two year programme an estimated 1,400 weapons were lost and never found again.
The 58-year-old, who was on the run for six months after he escaped from a maximum security prison through a mile long tunnel under his cell.
Following Guzman’s capture in January one of 19 firearms authorities recovered from his hideout was found to have been sold during Operation Fast and Furious causing huge embarrassment for US officials.
Guzman is currently being held in the Altiplano prison from where he escaped last July.
In a written response to Congress on Tuesday Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik confirmed the gun found at the Los Mochis residence Guzmán was sold by the programme.
