Scores dead in South Sudan plane crash

OMG! Not again, Barely four days after the ill-fated Russian passenger jet crashed over Sinai, Egypt killing all on board another plane has crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in South Sudan, killing more than 40 people, officials said. Three passengers reportedly survived.

The tail fin of the Russian-built plane and other parts were seen scattered along the banks of the White Nile river near the airport in Juba, the capital, on Wednesday. 

Witnesses told Reuters news agency that they counted at least 40 bodies at the crash site. 

The director of Juba International airport said "three people survived the crash", while local news outlets reported that only two people survived, one of them a child. 

A police officer near the scene, who did not give his name, also said there were two survivors, including a child, but could not say how many people were on board.

US satellite detects heat flash suggest a bomb on Crashed Russian Passanger Jet

New reports by US officials claimed that an American infra-red satelite detected a heat flash on the route of the ill-fated Russian passanger jet that crashed in Sinai Egypt on Saturday killing all 224 on board.

Contrary to claims by Islamist new report suggest a bomb on the aircraft exploded leaving a hole at the back of the jet.

UPDATE: Missing Indonesian Plane reportedly found crashed in remote Papua region

Missing Indonesian plane has been found by local villagers. says Indonesia's transport ministry.

The Triana Air Service owned twin-turboprop aircraft lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday in the remote, forested eastern Papua region.

There were no reports yet of any survivors. Indonesia's transport ministry spokesman J.A. Barata told news agencies search and rescue teams would head to the site at first light on Monday. The two eight-member teams would leave Jayapura at 6am AEST.

The plane left Jayapura's Sentani Airport for Oksibil, the capital of Papua province due south of Jayapura, at 2.33pm and lost contact at 2.55pm.

Ten minutes before it was due to land, the plane contacted Oksibil control tower asking to descend, Captain Beny Sumaryanto, Trigana Air's service director of operations, said.

But the plane never arrived. Half an hour later, Trigana Air sent another turboprop plane over the same route to look for the missing aircraft, he said.

NIGERIA: Unidentified Helicopter crashes into the Lagoon in Lagos

An unidentified helicopter this afternoon crashed into the Lagoon at Oworonshoki, Lagos Nigeria.
National Emergency management spokesperson told reporters that three people has been rescued and 3 dead bodies have been recovered from the scene of the crash. Meanwhile rescue operation is still on going as at the time of filling this report...

A Delta-operated SkyWest plane caught fire Friday on the tarmac at Nashville International Airport.

A Delta-operated SkyWest plane caught fire on the tarmac of Nashville International Airport earlier today. The plane was heading to Cincinnati, Ohio, scheduled to depart at 6:34 a.m. CDT.

The plane had just turned on its engine and had not yet reached the runway when the fire began, according to airport spokeswoman Shannon Sumrall.

Germany: Bodies of victims of Germanwings crash return home

Bodies of victims of the Germanwings airplane believed to have been deliberately crashed in the French Alps in March was on Tuesday night flown from Marseille to Germany.

A cortege carrying the coffins of German schoolchildren killed in the Germanwings plane crash has arrived in their home town of Haltern.

Residents holding white roses lined the route as the convoy of white hearses passed the children’s school.

Earlier, relatives of 44 of the 150 victims viewed their coffins inside a hangar at Duesseldorf airport.

The victims’ remains are the first to be repatriated following delays over errors on the death certificates.
