Caught in the Act! A Roman Catholic father who hosted a party in his house was caught on camera snorting a line cocaine, it was also reported the father's house in the church ground is alos filled Nazi memorabilia.

Father Stephen Crossan, 37, is said to have sniffed the class A drug through a £10 note at the end of a night of drinking beers and whiskey.

Abolish death Penalty - Pope Francis

Pope Francis while speaking to thousands of faithfuls at the St. Peter's Square, in the Vatican, over the weekend called on Catholic leaders to seek a ban on death penalty exclaiming that 'Thous shall not kill applies to the guilty as well as the innocent'.

The Pontiff, also asked politicians around the world to make a courageous and exemplary gesture during the Church's current Holy Year.

Shiites, rival Muslim youth clash in Jos

Members of Shiite group today clashed with a rival Muslim youths in Jos leaving one person dead.

The Shitte members were said to be protesting the continued  detention of their leader El-Zakzaky, his wife and some other members before the incident.

Media and Communications Officer of the Special Task Force, also known as ‘Operation Safe Haven’, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed the incident and said one person was killed.

KANO: Islamic cleric sentenced to death for ‘blasphemy’

As reported in The Vanguard, A  sharia court in Kano has sentenced a Tijjaniyya cleric, Abdul Inyass to death for blasphemy. The verdict ends nine months of secret trial of the cleric.

Inyass and 13 others were arrested May last year,  in Kano during a religious function in the city for blasphemy.

An Upper Sharia court Rijiya Lemu had in June last year sentenced Inyass’ accomplices which included a woman and 8 others to death.

Aftermath of Islamic republic declaration, Gambia orders female civil servants to cover their hair

Less than a month after declaring Gambia an Islamic republic its government has issued a decree ordering female civil servants to cover their hair while at work.

No reasons were given for the introduction of the new rule, which was announced in a memo that was leaked to local opposition newspapers.

It comes only a few weeks after President Yahya Jammeh announced Gambia would become an Islamic republic due to its majority Muslim population and a desire to break from its colonial past.

The memo, published by Freedom, stated 'all female staff' within government departments were no longer allowed to expose their hair during working hours, effective from December 31.

Shi'ite Sect calls out Governor El-Rufai

Islamic Movement in Nigeria, better known as the Shi’ite sect, has called out the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai as their enemy and anti-Shi’ite governor in a press release by the President of the groups media forum.

The sect in reaction to the Thursday night state broadcast by the governor on the recent clash between members of the sect and men of the Nigerian army stated categorically that, “It is clear that the governor is more like an extremist anti-Shi’ite governor and not a state governor.”
