TERRORISM: Car bomb in central Ankara kills dozens

A car bomb ripped through a busy square in central Ankara Sunday, killing at least 34 people and wounding 125, 19 seriously, officials said, the latest in a spate of attacks to hit Turkey.

Ambulances rushed to the scene on Kizilay square, a key commercial and transport hub close to the city's embassy area, where the blast reduced several vehicles including a bus to burnt-out wrecks.

While terrorism was considered as a possible motive, investigators found he had been facing disciplinary issues at work and was about to be banned from flying transatlantic routes.

At least 60 killed as ISIS suicide bombers attacks Shiite shrine in Syria

The Islamic States group has claimed responsibilities for the bombing that killed at least 60 people, including 25 Shiite fighter and wounded dozens near Syria's holiest Shiite shrine outside the capital Damascus.

According to SANA news agency, the first blast was caused by a car bomb that went off at a bus station by a public transport garage near the Sayyida Zeinab shrine. Two suicide bombers then detonated their explosives belts as people began to gather at the scene of the first explosion.

TERRORISM: A deadly explosion ripped through a polio vaccination centre in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta earlier today, killing at least 15 people, after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the facility.

It has just emerged that one of the Islamic State gunmen involved in the brutal massacre of 89 people in Central Paris on 13 November, coordinated attacks with a total casualty of 130 people, was trained to shoot by the French Police.

Samy Amimour, 28, was one of the suicide bombers who also used a Kalashnikov automatic rifle to cause the bloodbath at the Bataclan theatre.

Amimour, from the Paris suburb of Drancy, trained at the police shooting club in the city, after he registered for a gun licence in 2011. Though he had no criminal record when he started the course and shaved off his beard so he would not arouse suspicion.

IS claims responsibility for bomb attacks that killed and wounded scores in Beirut

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for a double suicide bomb attacks on a Hizbullah stronghold in Southern Beirut earlier today that killed 37 people.

According to a statement posted on Twitter by its supporters that its members blew up a bike loaded with explosives in a street in the Borj al-Barajneh area, and when people gathered after the blast, a suicide bomber blew himself up among them.

More than 181 people were wounded in the blasts in a crowded district in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

A local news agency said those involved in the attack on the building included a man and a woman who fled when police returned fire.

 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) has abducted 230 civilians, including at least 60 Christians, in a central Syrian town hours after it captured it, a monitoring group said on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the civilians were taken on Thursday in the town of Al-Qaryatain, which Isil jihadists had captured late Wednesday.

"Daesh kidnapped at least 230 people, including at least 60 Christians, during a sweep through Al-Qaryatain," Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said, using another name for Isil.

Many of the Christians had fled from Aleppo province, in Syria's north, to seek refuge in Al-Qaryatain.

TERRORISM: ISIS executes 19 girls for refusing to have sex with fighters

ISIS fanatics have executed 19 women for refusing to have sex with its fighters, a Kurdish official has said.

He claimed the women were being held hostage in Islamic State's stronghold of Mosul, Iraq, which the terror group seized in June last year.

Meanwhile a UN envoy investigating Islamic State's vile sex trade has said 'girls get peddled like barrels of petrol' and one can be bought by six different men.

She also verified a disturbing ISIS document which suggested the extremists sell the Yazidi and Christian women and children they have abducted, with girls aged just one to nine-years-old fetching the most money.

ISIS stormed the Sinjar district in northern Iraq last year and captured hundreds of women belonging to the Yazidi community, who the Islamists view as heretics.
